Being A Mom Is In the Greatest Commandment

A Peaceful Moment in God’s Creation

A Glimpse of Stillness

While at work today, I caught a beautiful glimpse of God’s creation—a few deer wandering across the property without a hint of worry. As I stood quietly, taking it all in, Psalm 42:1 came to my heart:

“As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.”

The scene was soothing. These gentle animals moved gracefully through the open field, as if fully aware that the seasons are shifting and fall is just around the corner. They had no schedule, no rush—just stillness. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of gratitude. Not just for the peaceful view, but also for the meaningful work God has given me, and the continued opportunity to grow Fruit Bearers in the time He allows.

The Calm Before the Storm

Tomorrow brings a different kind of day. Rain is expected as Hurricane Francine—currently still a tropical storm—approaches Louisiana. No one knows exactly where it’s headed, but today, the weather offered one last breath of calm. The quiet felt like a small mercy—a moment of rest before the winds begin to rise.

That’s often how life plays out, isn’t it? One day is smooth and still, and the next, we’re bracing for what’s coming. But in every moment, whether peaceful or stormy, God remains present. Unchanging. Steady.

God Is With You in the Storm

It’s not hard to praise God when everything’s going right—when the bills are paid, the fridge is full, and your loved ones are healthy. But when life takes a sudden turn—when a job is lost or a diagnosis is spoken—it’s a lot harder to lift our heads and remember who’s still in control.

If you’re reading this and you’re in that kind of season, hear me clearly: God is with you. Right now. Right in the storm. I feel His presence as I write this. You have not been abandoned. Jesus sees you, and He knows every wave crashing around your heart. He’s not far off—He’s right there with you.

You may feel shaken, but you’re not alone. You may feel like you’re sinking, but there’s still time to grab hold of faith, just like Peter stepping out of the boat.

Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Peter knew what it meant to trust Jesus in the middle of a storm. When he stepped out of the boat, that was a bold move—pure faith. But the second he looked away, fear took over, and he began to sink.

That’s what happens when we shift our focus. We lose sight of Jesus, and suddenly, fear becomes louder than faith. We get pulled under by sorrow, anxiety, or the lies whispered by the enemy.

But that is not your story’s end.

God’s Word is packed with promises—truths that speak directly to our storms. I could list many, but this one keeps stirring in my heart, and I believe it’s for someone reading this today:

"To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."
Isaiah 61:3

This verse didn’t just come to me—I believe God led me to it for your sake. It’s His way of saying, “Hold on—I’m working, even in this.”
